René SLOT
studied singing with Joan Zeegers de Beyl, alto Aafje Heynis, Udo Reinemann and Rudolf Jansen as well as studying medicine. Later he studied interpretation of the art of song, opera and oratorio with Anton Kersjes, former conductor of the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently he is coached by singing teacher Gemma Visser.

René has given recitals accompanied by Kelvin Grout, Bon Martin, Eke Simons, Gabrielka Clout and since 2008 with Robert Weirauch. He sang Winterreise by Schubert in the Deventer Theatre in the series of the Chamber Music Foundation Deventer. Besides his love for the art of song, he sang as a tenor soloist accompanied by conductors such as Otto Tausk and Oane Wierdsma with the Orchestra of the East, the Limburg Symphony Orchestra and the Toonkunst Choir. He has performed in oratorio such as Die Jahreszeiten of Haydn, Bach's Johannes (arias and Evangelist) and St. Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Elijah by Mendelssohn and Mozart's Requiem.

In 2011 he also performed in Brussels with the Chapelle des Minimes cantatas of JS Bach.

Recently René Slot and Robert Weirauch produced a CD of Schubert's Winterreise.

Robert WEIRAUCH studied piano and composition at the Conservatorium Maastricht with Tonie Ehlen and John Slangen respectively. Besides his busy schedule as a freelance pianist with various ensembles, a duet partner and as an accompanist, he has also composed more than sixty works.

His works include chamber music, choral works, synthesizer and film music, concerts and an opera (The History of the Devil, in 2001 awarded the second prize in the Dimitri Mitropoulos Competition in Athens). Since 2005 he is an accompanist at the Maastricht Conservatory. He forms a duo with the mezzo-soprano Regula Boeninger. In 2003 they won the International Brahms Competition in Portschach, Austria. He is a member of the Composers Foundation Limburg since 2007. That same year he received the Bremen Encouragement for young talent Limburg, resulting in the production of a CD "Simurg Ensemble plays Robert Weirauch."
